Lower Mill Facilities
Full cooking facilities are provided for our guests in our small modern kitchen. These include an oven, hob, microwave, toaster, fridge, dishwasher and all the pots and pans you could need. Free tea and coffee are provided and cereal is available with suggested donations in an honesty box and /or replacement of what you use. If you’d rather eat out, there are 2 cafes and a good selection of local restaurants and pubs. with further choice in Peebles.
The comfortable lounge area has enough seating for all of your group to relax and unwind after a hard day’s activity. If you’re looking for a night in, there is a TV and board games. Books and maps are available to help you plan your stay, and a notice board has up to date information on local events and weather forecasts.
There are 3 bedrooms – all en suite with basin, shower and toilet.
Bedroom 1 has two twin beds which can be zipped together to make a double. NB. If you want them set up as a double, please let us know in advance. The duvets provided are singles only.
Bedroom 2 can sleep up to three with a bunkbed and a single bed.
Bedroom 3 can sleep up to three with a bunkbed and a single bed.
Bed linen is provided.
Towels can be provided if pre-booked. They cost £2 per towel, with £1 going to Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue.
We have indoor storage available in a dedicated room inside The Lodge. There is space for bikes and wall mounted brackets to secure your bike. Please bring your own locks/chains.
There is a hose at the front of the building and space to wash bikes down, or if you’re riding at Glentress, they provide high power hoses for a small charge.
The Bike Store is also a drying room to dry clothing and footwear. A washing machine and tumble drier are available for your use, with a donation towards costs.
There is a small gravel area to the front of the building with a table/bench to make the most of any sunshine you’re lucky enough to see. After a visit to Caldwells ice-cream shop a few doors down of course!
There is free on-street parking outside Cleikum Mill on the High Street and on Hall Street which runs along side the property. There is also a car park a little further along Hall Street.
